اک شہر مرا آبائی ہے

جس پر کہ اداسی چھائی ہے

واں نین نشیلے ہوتے ہیں

واں لوگ سجیلے ہوتے ہیں

واں بادل کالے آتے ہیں

واں بارش خوب برستی ہے

کچھ دھندلے دھندلے چہرے ہیں

جن پر زلف کے پہرے ہیں

پر یہ بات مجھے کب بھاتی ہے

ہو کے بے اثر دعا آجاتی ہے
